The South Eastern Mountain Rescue received a call at 2.55pm on Saturday from the National Ambulance Service to assist a fallen walker with a lower leg injury near Holy Year Cross.
In a statement, SEMRA said: "NAS paramedics on scene splinted the injured walkers ankle and provided pain relief.

"SEMRA members were able to drive the team Landrover right into their location and the casualty was able to sit into the Landrover with some assistance.

"They were driven out to the Holy Year Cross trail head to the waiting ambulance.
"Everyone safely off the hill at 16:48.
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
