Cara on the last day of her 50-hour protest.

Tipperary campaigner Cara Darmody has released an emotional update on her last day of her 50-hour protest outside the Dáil.

The activist from Ardfinnan was protesting to demand real action for children with disabilities and their families, and to raise vital funds for Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI).

Cara issued an emotional update today at the end of her two-day long protest.

"I DID IT!!!!! After whooping Storm Bram, I got to the finish line of my huge 50-hour sleepout protest!!! I can't believe that l pushed through the hardship!!

"At the end, I was brought into the Dail chamber for a massive clap from every TD!!! I'm absolutely wrecked so l can't wait to get home to my Mum!!!

"Thanks to you all for your amazing support!! I'll thank everyone properly later, but a huge thanks to Superintendent Dermot McKenna and his amazing team of Gardai who showered me with massive kindness and security over the three days!! Dermot even gave presents for my brothers!!
