WATCH: New six-part drama filmed in Clare hits screens with plenty of Irish talent

The Irish drama is coming to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player and sees actors from Peaky Blinders, Vikings and Top Boy take the stage

Filmed in Killaloe, Co Clare, the latest "dark drama" to hit our screens this Sunday night is Blackshore, and there is plenty of Irish talent to look out for.

The new 6-part Irish drama coming to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player follows DI Fia Lucey (Lisa Dwan), a determined detective haunted by her tragic past when her entire family was wiped out in a tragedy at the hands of her father.

Recently banished from her high stakes position due to allegations of undue force, Fia is tasked with investigating the case of a missing woman from her hometown, Blackwater.

What begins as a missing persons' enquiry soon becomes a larger mystery that engulfs the entire community and may uncover devastating revelations about DI Lucey’s own tragic family history.

Blackwater, a town still processing the unwelcome attention brought by DI Lucey’s family tragedy, is now prosperous and successful but remains steeped in its own secrets and lies.

Fia finds herself up against some of the most prominent and powerful personalities in the town as she comes to discover that this case may lead her back to her most personal and intimate family history.

The cast includes Lisa Dwan as DI Fia Lucey (Top Boy, Bloodlands), Rory Keenan (The Guard, Peaky Blinders), Amy DeBhrún (Line of Duty and Vikings) and Aidan McArdle (Deadly Cuts, Mr Selfridge) along with Stanley Townsend and Andrew Bennett.

Blackshore comes from the creators of Smother; writer Kate O'Riordan (Smother, The Bay) and director Daithí Keane (Smother), the series is produced by Treasure Entertainment.
