WATCH: Fianna Fáil fill final Newport LEA spot with John Carroll retaining his seat

Carroll was elected without reaching the quota due to a lack of surplus votes

Fianna Fáil candidate John Carroll has been elected in the Newport LEA following the third count.

Though he did not reach the quota, there are not enough surplus votes to help either of the other two candidates surpass his votes, and with that, Carroll was elected.
