RIP: Tributes pour in for Tipperary Sister of Mercy remembered as 'an absolute lady'

Tributes are pouring in online following the passing of Sr Assumpta White of the Convent of Mercy, Rosanna Road, Tipperary and formerly of Knockbawn, Rossmore, Tipperary.

Sr Assumpta passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff at the Regional University Hospital, Limerick, the Mercy Sisters and family members.

Beloved daughter of the late William and Nora White and predeceased by her sister Kitty and her brothers Matty, Pat, Dan and William, Sr Assumpta will be greatly missed by her treasured nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and great grandnephews and great grandnieces, her Mercy Sisters and many friends.

Many have paid tribute to her online, praising her personality and good nature:

Sr Assumpta will be reposing in the Convent Chapel, Rosanna Road, Tipperary Town on Friday evening, September 11, from 4 pm until 6 pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday, September 12, at 12pm in St Michael’s Parish Church, Tipperary Town, followed by burial in St Michael’s cemetery, Tipperary.
