A fantastic week's tennis came to a close in Larkspur on Saturday, April 7, with the junior tennis finals.
Girls singles U18s Final was keenly contested by Larkspur Parks Shauna Fogarty against Nenagh LTCs Allison Cullinan with the Nenagh native winning 6-3 6-4.Boys singles U14 title was won by Ennis Tennis clubs Dillon Murray 6-1 6-1 against Kilkenny LTC's George Shepherd.
Girls U14s saw the final contested by Cork Cousins Ruby & Hillary Walsh with Douglas LTC's Ruby coming out on top 6-4 7-5. Both paired up to win the U14 girls doubles final 6-2 6-2 against a strong performance by Larkspurs Katie Muldoon and Kilkenny LTC's Sarah Sheehan.
Tipp County's David and Anna O'Brien narrowly lost out to Kilkennys Tom Sheehan and Naas LTC's Millie Malloy 6-4 2-6 10-6.
Larkspur's Fernando Garcia Seeber teamed up with Dillon Murray of Kilkenny LTC to win the boys U14s doubles against Kilkenny LTC's Tom Sheehan & George Shepherd.
St Anne's Waterford Lucia Whelan won the Girls singles U12s final while the U12s doubles finals was won by home favourites Grace O'Connor and Ciara Fitzpatrick.Ciara also won the mixed U12s with partner Sean Moran of Malahide LTC against Larkspur's Jack O'Dwyer and Orla Ryan. Darragh Healy of Kilfeacle TC won a tightly contested Boys U12s title against James O'Dwyer of Brookfield LTC. Darragh again represented Kilfeacle along with James Mcloughlan winning the boys U12s doubles against Navans Ciallian Dwyer and Hillviews Owen Quigley.
Earlier in the Week U8s 9s and 10s showed the future is bright with fantastic displays of Tennis ability and an abundance of fun had by all.
Thanks to all the endeavours and time given by Larkspur volunteers and junior committee members ensured a great competition was run with the real winner being tennis.
