Tipperary Museum of Hidden History to host interesting lecture

Come and join the Tipperary Museum of Hidden History  on Thursday 22 February at 7pm when it will welcome Dr Jennifer Redmond from the Department of History at Maynooth University. Dr. Redmond will present a lecture entitled 'Women, Work and the Constitution in Ireland'.
The talk will reflect on the history of women and work in Ireland in the 20th century in light of the upcoming referendum to repeal the language in the constitution that emphasises women's role in the home, an article many women believed solidified the legal basis on which they were forced to leave their work.
The talk will reflect on research in women’s history, on women’s work and interviews conducted with women in various sectors which have been conducted by Dr Redmond along with Prof Judith Harford (UCD) and Dr Deirdre Foley (TCD)
Dr Redmond will be available to interview any women willing to have their experiences of the marriage ban recorded for our research.
