RTÉ 2FM star Doireann Garrihy has shared a video of her highlights working on the Breakfast Show as she bids farewell to fans and colleagues.
Doireann - who has been a familiar voice on morning radio since 2019 - announced her departure from the popular show, which she presents with Carl Mullan and Donncha O'Callaghan, just weeks ago.
She posted a video on her personal Instagram page earlier today (May 31) with the caption, "Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Donncha, Carl, our RTÉ 2FM listeners. You’ll never know how much you mean to me. You’ll have a massive piece of my heart forever. What an era! All my love. Doireann x."
The reel features years of the trio's antics and is accompanied by an Ariana Grande song called 'bye'.
Doireann posted the video following the conclusion of her final show with Carl and Donncha, with fans flooding the comments section to wish her well in the future.
One commenter wrote, "Bawled listening to the show this morning. The trio will be missed. It was our family ritual to listen every morning getting ready for school and work. All the best for your future projects. You'll be missed."
Another commented, "Aw... I got emotional listening to you all this morning. Very best of luck in your future Doireann and thanks for the craic every morning in my car with my kiddos."
Another person wrote, "Ah Doireann, we will all miss listening to you more than you'll realise. So sad that I can't tune into the three of ye everyday, ye have kept us laughing and smiling every morning no matter what was happening. Best of luck with everything coming your way. Our mornings won't sound the same in our house."
Doireann's colleague Donncha gave her an emotional send-off on the last show, stating, "I'd like to speak on behalf of your whole 2FM family, loads of them outside the window looking in that have been along with you for the journey. We just want to say how grateful we are to you, you are an incredible teammate, you've been like a sister to the two of us.
"When we do get in holes and we need someone at our back, you're always there, and we're so grateful for it. We've had brilliant teammates but you're right up there. An unbelievable talent. A work rate like no one else has. Your ability to keep going is incredible."
He continued: "[You're] serious craic, to be fair to ya. And also, I think I speak on behalf of myself and Carl, that ability, that resilience to keep going when all the rates keep chipping away, kid, you are incredible and we are so so proud of you.
"The greatest compliment I can give to you as a dad of three girls, I'd love if they ended up like you. So, thank you so much from all of us. In fact, I'd even love if Jake ended up like you, bar the dodgy knee. But for your family, they should be so proud of you. From your family in here, we are so so proud of you. And you never say goodbye to the good ones so we'll see you along the way."
Carl, too, paid tribute to Doireann and said she has "a work ethic you've never seen before".
He said, "She's just all around sickeningly talented. Now maybe like Donncha said, it's becoming a dad that's made me start to realise the qualities and people that I want to try highlight in my kids. And let me tell you Dee has them in abundance.
"And working with Dee for the last three years on this show more important than anything that I've said already is that she's kind, she's loyal, and she's been there for all of us in this team when there's been things going on in the background that might not make it to the airwaves.
"She's the definition of a great teammate and a great friend. So Doireann thank you for every single second of the last three years and thank you for being above all everything else an absolutely brilliant pal. Thank you so much, you're an absolute legend, we love you."
An emotional Doireann responded by saying, "I didn't plan what I was going to say, I couldn't think about it because I would just have been overcome with emotion but I just want to thank you both of you from the bottom of my heart for every single day. It's been the time of my life. I've enjoyed every single second of it.
"And thank you so much to everyone outside the glass as well, I know I didn't go upstairs too often. I legged it more often than not, but I love you all and thank you all so much for being so welcoming all the way back in 2019 when I came in the door and I didn't know anyone. And, it's an amazing place to work, it really is.
"And the listeners, you've just been through thick and thin. Phenomenal. Every single morning, beyond reliable. But mainly you guys and producer Grace who isn't here, she's on her hollibobs, but she didn't change them. She's a queen.
"But mainly you guys, I've found brothers for life and I'm so grateful."
