The Cahir Social and Historical Society was delighted to host the launch of ‘The Camino de Santiago: How, Why and the Inner Journey’ a book by Pat Holland last Thursday, March 12, in Cahir House Hotel.

An estimated 200 guests attended the launch of Pat Holland's book in an event that was hosted by Cahir Social and Historical Society.

Along with John O'Reilly as MC, Miriam Joyce and Martin Stockdale shared their personal experiences and perspectives on the Camino while Cahir's own Óisín O'Neill brought so much to the atmosphere with his beautiful music on Spanish Classical Guitar.

The evening concluded with the author thanking a number of individuals, most especially his wife Ellen, sharing some personal insights on the Camino and reading a short extract from his work.

Pat's book is available for purchase at Supervalu, Cahir, and is an essential purchase for anyone with an interest in attempting this pilgrimage.  This event was a fantastic end to the Society's Winter/ Spring series of events and we thank all that attended.

Our deepest thanks go to Cahir House Hotel, to our guest speakers and to everyone who has supported our programme.

We hope that it has helped to shorten the winter for our loyal patrons. Preparations are getting under way for the summer's ‘Culture at the Castle’ festival that takes place in Cahir Castle.
Details will be shared soon.
