Several of Ireland’s leading athletes will step up their indoor campaigns this weekend as the AAI Games and the 123.ie National Indoor Combined Events Championships are held at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena (NIA) in Abbotstown.

Competitive fields are expected to line up across all events on Saturday for the AAI Games, while national titles in the combined events will be confirmed on what will be a busy Sunday for those competing in the multi-event competitions.

Jack Forde (St Killian’s AC) and Laura Frawley (Nenagh Olympic AC) claimed the senior titles at last year’s 123.ie National Indoor Combined Events Championships, with Frawley set to return in defence of her crown.

Frawley was a dominant winner in 2025, accumulating 3,252 points to finish well clear of Louise King, who placed second on 2,654 and is among those set to reoppose her.

Frawley outscored her rivals in all but one event last year, with particularly strong performances in the 60 metres hurdles (832 points) and high jump (765).

The 2025 University Athlete of the Year will once again be the athlete to beat.
