Cahir Carers Day

Helen Condon, Margaret Carroll, Mary Phelan enjoyed a cuppa and a chat at the Information Morning for Family Carers.

Carers Week was celebrated in Cahir, last Friday morning, by Family Carers Ireland with a special mass in St Mary's Church followed by an Information Morning in the Parish Rooms.

Local Area Manager Cllr Richie Molloy thanked all who attended the event and in particular welcomed local TD Mattie McGrath and Cllr Andy Moloney.

Cllr Molloy announced that a new campaign “Shine a light on Carers” is beginning tomorrow, Thursday, June 21, which is the longest day of the year.

Local shops and Dunnes Stores in particular will have Carer Badges on display and members of the public may donate money to the organisation for the very attractive badges (kindly sponsored by Care Plus Pharmacies).
