Astronomy fans are in for a treat at Carrick-on-Suir Library on Tuesday, March 12 when Cathal O’Donghaile from South East Astronomy will give a talk and slide show about the Moon.
Cathal, who is Treasurer and PRO of South East Astronomy Club, has a keen interest in radio astronomy.
His talk will cover how the Moon was formed and explains how it became the sight we know and love from our night skies. This free talk is one of a series of events Astronomy Ireland is organising around the country to celebrate Irish Astronomy Week 2024.
South East Astronomy also encourages members of the public to attend their public watch in Kingsmeadow Green, Waterford City on the night of March 13.
The Formation of the Moon talk takes place at Carrick Library on March 12 from 2pm to 3pm. You must book your place in advance. Contact: Carrick-on-Suir Library at (051) 640591 or email:carricklibrary@tipperarycoco.ie
