A group of leading musicians and singers from Tipperary and Waterford came together to perform a concert in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in the beautiful surroundings of the Nuns’ Chapel at Carrick-on-Suir’s Nano Nagle Community Centre.
The fundraising concert that took place on May 26 was organised by renowned Carrick-on-Suir composer and pianist Dr Marian Ingoldsby and promoted by local pharmacist Dr Sabine Eggers.
It was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended including RNLI Munster Regional Community Manager Connie Kiersey and RNLI Fundraising Secretary at Helvick Head Lifeboat Station Seamus Kiersey.
Dr Ingoldsby, who lectures in the Dept. of Creative and Performing Arts at SETU Waterford, was among the performers.
She was joined by Waterford flautist Ger Dower, bass baritone singer Derek Ryan from Tipperary, Carrick-on-Suir actor, musician and singer Michael Raggett and Waterford mezzo soprano Emily Myers.
The RNLI representatives thanked the organisers for selecting the RNLI as their chosen charity and said the €500 raised will be directed towards water safety training for young people and saving lives.
