A councillor in Tipperary has highlighted a savage dog attack in Tipperary which left a cat beheaded.

Cllr Liam Browne said: "I've already contacted the Dog Warden about attacks on at least two cats last weekend.

"Hopefully there will be no more, but please keep your pets in, until something can be done to remove these dogs and their threat.

"There have also been reports of people being attacked by these or other dogs in around the graveyard/McDonald's area.

"If that happens, contact the gardaí immediately. Do not wait until a serious attack happens.

"This will be sorted out, but it could be into this week because of a lack of resources. Please remain vigilant!"
