As other team members arrived, they were tasked with finding a safe landing zone for the helicopter.
The South Eastern Mountain Rescue team received a call at 4.18pm on Saturday from the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to assist with the "evacuation of a walker who had become very unwell and was unable to continue".
Team members along with two NAS ambulances, an advanced paramedic car and the NAS Air Ambulance all responded to the Nire Valley to assist the walker.

He was treated on the hill by the NAS paramedics along with SEMRA team members.

The casualty was lifted by the air ambulance from the top of the mountain down to a safe landing zone and from there transferred into the SEMRA Land Rover and then to the car park to the waiting ambulance.

SEMRA added: "An excellent multi-agency response to a potentially serious incident. We wish the casualty a swift recovery."
