Rockwell College student Max Fitzgerald continues to impress on the international cycling stage, securing 5th place in Stage 2B of the prestigious Course de la Paix Nations Cup in the Czech Republic earlier this month.
Representing Cycling Ireland, Max competed against some of the top junior cyclists from across the globe in one of the most competitive events on the international calendar.
The Nations Cup forms part of the UCI’s junior series and is seen as a stepping stone for many elite-level cyclists.
Speaking after the event, Max said he was "happy to come away with 5th place in Stage 2B" and remains focused on what’s next, adding "onwards and upwards from here".
He also extended his thanks to Cycling Ireland for the opportunity and support throughout the week, as well as to Cycologist Clonmel for their continued backing, and DD Physical Therapy Clinic for keeping him in top form.
A spokesperson from Rockwell College said:
"We are incredibly proud of Max’s achievement on the international stage. His dedication and ambition are clear, and we look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next."
Max’s performance in the Czech Republic is just the latest in what promises to be a bright future in Irish cycling.
