Work on the Old Road is being carried out during the mid-term break to minimise the impact on school traffic in Cashel

Tipperary County Council will begin important road resurfacing works next week on the Old Road in Cashel, between Coopers Lot and Summercove Meadows.

Locals say this stretch has been in poor condition for some time, and the upcoming works will significantly improve safety and accessibility for local residents and road users.

The council has scheduled the works to take place during the Halloween school break, which is a very welcome move for motorists and parents in the area.

This timing will help minimise disruption for families and staff at St John the Baptist Primary School, which is located nearby and sees heavy traffic during term time.

The resurfacing of the Old Road will be overseen by Paudie Franklin as he begins his new role as roads engineer for the area.
