The safety of pedestrians and road users in the Cashel area was addressed at the recent meeting of Cashel Tipperary Municipal District Council.
Cllr Roger Kennedy requested that “foot lights” be installed on the footpath on the Circular Road at the Rock of Cashel instead of poles with lights.
Management stated that “this issue was dealt with as part of the planning process for this project and the lights being erected are in accordance with the permission granted.”
“They are on a lovely walkway” and Cllr Kennedy said he hoped they would be “sensitive to the area.”
Senior Engineer Aidan Finn said there had been a delay. The lights will be green and will be small LED type lights which will be as least “visually intrusive as possible.”
