Congratulations to Cashel King Cormac's GAA U11 team

Next weekend is a busy one for Intermediate and Junior hurlers.

First up on Saturday our Juniors take on Mullinahone in the County Semi Final. This will be another tough game for the lads after coming through after a replay in the West Final against Kickhams.

The lads have prepared well and will hope to take another step forward in the Championship and contest the County final. The game throws in at 3pm in Fethard. All support welcome.

On to Sunday and the "big one" for the club and its Intermediate panel. It's County Final time and a mouthwatering clash with Thurles Sarsfields. Cashel's path to the final has been impressive. After a lacklustre start, back in April, a draw with Carrick Davins, the team has shown massive improvement. Victories over Cappawhite, our opponents on Sunday Thurles Sarsfields, Ballinahinch and Borrisokane all well deserved. The manner of each of those wins very encouraging, coming from behind in some to finish out strong. Sunday's game however will be a new challenge and one the entire panel and management team will relish. The whole club and town is behind each and everyone of you as you aim to seal our return to Senior Hurling as County Champions. The game throws in at 3.30 in Holycross on Sunday next. Come and show your support by going red and green in the build up and in Holycross next Sunday.

Juvenile News

U11 West Football Finals

Cashel KC u11B’s put up a great battling performance against a strong Arravale Rovers Team in the u11D Football Final. Although Cashel eventually lost by a narrow margin they pushed Arravale all the way by with sheer tenacity which included a superb goal by David Mathias. All players were excellent on the night. We congratulate all the Boys and their Mentors Michael O’Brien and Liam O’Brien.

Denis Fitzgerald Cup Stays in Cashel

Our U.11A Football Team retained the Denis Fitzgerald Cup for the 3rd year in a row and in so doing completed a double in football and hurling at this level in 2018. Eight first half goals put Cashel in an unstoppable position. Although Arravale to their credit fought back in the second half with 4 goals, Cashel managed 3 more goals ensuring the victory. Every Cashel Player won their match up and Briain O’Donoghue played a captain’s part pitching in with 4 goals and a point.

Callum Butler Buckley scored 2-2, Callum Byrnes notched Up 1-1 while Cian Fitzgerald struck a goal in each half. Eddie Thompson & Lucas Morrissey also scored a goal each. Patric O’Donoghue (in the first half) and Kieran O’Neill in the second half pulled off impressive saves in the goal, while Conor Wheston was superb cutting out attack after attack from Arravale.

The Club was delighted to have Denis’s family well represented and to have Catherine Hickey to hand over the Cup with Martin Bourke, FRS and County Chairperson.

Congratulations to Coaches Ruairi Ryan, Rodgie Ryan and Sean O’Donoghue.

Hard luck to our U.16 Footballers as the succumbed to a strong Loughmore Castleiney side on Saturday last in the County Semi Final. Its been a long season for our U.16s and a successful one at doing the West Double, so certainly nothing lost in defeat. Well done to all the players and their management team for their terrific work this season.
