Tipperary supports Action for Autism campaign

Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Richie Molloy has praised the organisers of the Action for Autism campaign

The Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Richie Molloy has praised those involved in the organisation of an Action for Autism group in Tipperary.
Action For Autism was initiated by Sabrina & Stephanie, who recognised the need for collective action. Although our individual situations and stories may differ, our ultimate goals remain the same. We are not alone in this fight, as there are many other families facing similar challenges.
Some of the key issues addressed include the lack of suitable school placements for children with additional needs, insufficient Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) in both special schools and mainstream settings, a severe shortage of therapy services (as evidenced by the 630 families on the waiting list within CDNT5), and inadequate support for parents, teachers, and special schools such as Scoil Chormaic, Scoil Aonghusa, and ASD units.
Furthermore, there is a significant lack of support for families during school holidays or closures. It is imperative for the government to take immediate action and ensure the protection of our children. Together, we can make a difference.
