Public meeting planned on range of issues facing Clonmel businesses and residents

A public meeting about a proposed commercial rates increase, anti-social behaviour, dereliction and other pressing issues in Clonmel is planned next Tuesday, November 26.

The “Our Town, Our Home, Our Fight, Save It Right” meeting is being organised by Labour General Election candidate Cllr Michael ‘Chicken’ Brennan in response to issues Clonmel business people and residents are raising with him on the campaign trail.

The meeting will take place in the Talbot Hotel at 7pm on November 26 and will be independently chaired.

The meeting will focus on the business community’s concerns about a 6% hike in commercial rates proposed in Tipperary County Council’s Budget, the recently approved Local Property Tax increase, town centre dereliction, anti-social behaviour and the cost impact on businesses of the change over to a hard water supply in Clonmel,
