Three more men appeared before a district court last Friday charged with committing criminal damage and trespass at a property at Railway Cottages in Clonmel two weeks ago.

Thomas O'Reilly, aged 27, of House 1, The Old Road, Cashel appeared before Clonmel District Court charged with causing criminal damage by setting fire to No. I Railway Cottages, Powerstown, Clonmel, property of Tipperary County Council on March 18 and entering No. 1 Railway Cottages as a trespasser on the same date and committing criminal damage.

William Reilly, aged 33, of Waller's Lot, Cashel was before the court charged with entering No. 1 Railway Cottages as a trespasser and committing criminal damage between March 17 and 18 and causing criminal damage to a caravan at I Railway Cottages between the same dates.

Michael Reilly, aged, 34, of Mainstown, Carrick-on-Suir, was also before the court charged with causing criminal damage to a mobile home at 1 Railway Cottages and entering No. 1 Railway Cottages as a trespasser and committing criminal damage on March 18.

Judge Brian O'Shea refused Thomas O'Reilly's bail application on the grounds of Garda concerns about witness intimidation and remanded him in custody to appear before Clonmel District Court tomorrow (Tuesday, April 8).

William and Michael Reilly were remanded on bail to appear before Clonmel District Court on May 6. Judge O'Shea fixed strict condition to their bail.

The conditions are that the two accused men must have no contact directly or indirectly, including electronically, with any witnesses, in particular Ellen, Patrick and James Hutchinson. They must abide by a nightly curfew between 10pm and 8am, commit no further offences while on bail, refrain from intoxicants and remain sober at all times in public and report any changes in their addresses to gardaí within 24 hours.

Their appearance before Clonmel District Court occurred a day after nine men appeared before Cashel District Court also charged in connection with the same incident.
