Planning permission has been sought for a new takeaway premises in a busy part of Tipperary.
The planning application was submitted by the owner of a well-known Italian restaurant in Clonmel, Cibo Fresco, and the new premises is just down the street from the owners current business.
Planning sought for the new premises on 21 Mitchel Street states that the new business will operate as a kebab house/takeaway which will sell food for takeaway that will be eaten off premises.

Opening hours of the takeaway will be limited to 11am until 11pm and the new layout of the premises will include a staff toilet and changing facilities.
The premises is listed as a protected structure in Clonmel and dates back to around 1830.
According to a conservation report published by Tipperary County Council, the premises previously served as a sweetshop up until the 1990's, an interior fabrics shop, a clothing boutique and an electronic cigarette shop.
The council will carry out an inspection of the premises within the next five weeks and they have until May 27 to make their decision on whether to grant the applicant permission.
