Twohig and Eoin Hally have been running When Next We Meet since 2022, having previously cut their teeth on some of Ireland’s best music and arts festivals. Having had their first taste of the chaotic existence of festival producing in their teens with the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival, these two musicians realised a bucket-list goal of theirs with the help of Camida CEO David Anchell - starting a music festival.
If you don’t usually consider yourself a “festival goer” or “arts audience,” don’t worry! Kate and Eoin promise that When Next We Meet is a welcoming, safe, and friendly space for anyone curious to try out an outdoor music festival. It’s right on the doorstep of town, with all the comforts of an urban centre close by.
As Kate says, “This isn’t about trekking through forests carrying as many cans as possible in your bags! It’s much more ‘metropolitan’. You can leave your wellies at home, walk just five minutes from town, and once you pass through the arches, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into something magical—still in Clonmel, but with a festival vibe. Plus, you get to fall into your own bed at the end of the night!”
A few handy tips from the team: Keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly—whether that’s a raincoat or a sunhat! There’s limited shelter onsite, and while the festival isn’t seated, there are spots to rest around the site. Be mindful of your own stamina, and please note that camping chairs aren’t encouraged and might need to be left at the gate.
Most importantly, come early, show some love to the amazing local artists, and dive right into the weekend’s fun. You’ll know When Next We Meet is here when you hear the soundchecks echoing across the river and into town—building that exciting buzz right up until the gates open.
Limited tickets start at €45.00 plus fees and are available from whennextwemeet.ie through Eventbrite. Local accommodation options are listed on the festival website.
