BREAKING: Tipperary gardaí investigate spate of thefts from cars in two Tipperary towns

Gardaí in Clonmel and Fethard are currently investigating a number of recent incidents where unlocked cars were targeted by criminals.

The incidents took place in the south of the county, in Fethard and Clonmel where there were a spate of similar crimes.

On the evening of Thursday 5th January 2023 Gardaí received a report that a sum of money had been stolen from a parked car in the Barron Park Estate in Clonmel. The vehicle had been left unlocked for a time that evening.

Again, on the morning of Friday 6th January 2023 Gardaí received a report that two cars, parked at the front of a house in the Barron Park Estate in Clonmel, had been entered overnight and contents interfered with. Both vehicles had been left unlocked overnight.

Gardaí in Clonmel are also investigating an incident from the evening of Friday 6th January 2023 where a sum of money was stolen from a parked car outside a house in Cooleens Close Estate in Clonmel. The vehicle had been left unlocked for a time that evening.

Separately, Gardaí in Fethard are investigating an incident from Saturday 7th January 2023 where a number of items were stolen from a parked car outside a house at The Green Estate in Fethard.

Enquiries are ongoing into these incidents and anyone with any information is asked to contact Clonmel Garda Station (District HQ) on 052-6177640 or Garda Confidential Line Free-phone 1800 666 111.

The public are being strongly advised to lock parked or unattended vehicles at all times, day and night, and to avoid keeping any sums of money or other items of value in vehicles.
