Garda concern over sharp increase in drink driving arrests in Tipperary Garda District

Gardaí have voiced concern at a sharp increase in the number of drink driving arrests in the Tipperary Garda District since the beginning of the year.

A Tipperary Town Garda Station spokesman said since January 1, nine motorists have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving across the district that includes Tipperary Town. This is more than double the four arrests for this offence over the same period in 2022.

The garda spokesman urged motorists to be responsible and not to drive under any circumstances after they have consumed alcohol.
