Councillors at this week’s sitting of Thurles/Templemore District Council congratulated Kerry Condon on her BAFTA win.

Cllr Seamus Hanafin said that when the council had written to Ms Condon previously, she had been happy that they thought to do so. He said her BAFTA win bodes well for her Oscar bid.

Cllr Jim Ryan said it was a cause for celebration in Thurles. He formally proposed a Civic Reception for the Thurles actress. Cathaoirleach Peggy Ryan joined her colleagues in congratulating Ms Condon.
