Carrick-on-Suir’s Brewery Lane Drama Group is nominated in eight categories in this weekend’s Green Room Awards in Waterford for its production of Noel Coward’s comedy, Present Laughter, last year.
It will be a big night for Carrick-on-Suir as the town’s Musical Society is also nominated for seven gongs at the Waterford News & Star sponsored awards that will be announced at a gala function in Waterford’s Theatre Royal on Sunday (February 26).

Best Supporting Actor in an Amateur Drama: Barry Comerford who played Roland Maule in Present Laughter.
Best Male Performance in an Amateur Drama and Best Male Comic Performance in an Amateur Drama: Paul Sheehan, who played Garry Essendine in Present Laughter.
Best Female Performance in an Amateur Drama: Catherine McVicker for her performance as Liz.
Best Female Performance in an Amateur Drama and Best Female Comic Performance in an Amateur Drama: Aileen O’Keefe who played Joanna in Present Laughter.
Suzanne Shine is nominated for the Best Director in an Amateur Drama prize while the production of Present Laughter is nominated for the Best Amateur Drama award.
Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society’s Green Room Awards nominations are for its 2022 annual show, Chess The Musical, that was staged at the Strand Theatre last May.
