Boy injured in collision with car in Tipperary Town

A six-year-old boy is recovering from injuries he sustained when he was involved in a collision with a car while on a bicycle in Tipperary Town last Saturday evening.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the accident that occurred in the Carrowclough area of Tipperary Town around 6.20pm on March 25.

The injured boy was taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel and then transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.

A Tipperary Town Garda Station spokesman said it was initially feared the child’s injuries were serious but thankfully that has turned out not to be the case and he is expected to make a full recovery.
