Former Carrick-on-Suir town councillor Pierce O'Loughlin has passed away

The late Pierce O'Loughlin from Seskin, Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir

Former Carrick-on-Suir town councillor Pierce O'Loughlin from Seskin, Carrickbeg has passed away and his funeral will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Mr O'Loughlin, who was proprietor of Carrick Print and The Three Counties newspaper, died on Wednesday.

He served as an Independent councillor on the former Carrick-on-Suir Town Council between 2009 and 2014. It was the last ever elected Carrick Town Council before the abolition of town councils nationwide that year in sweeping local government reforms. 

His remains will repose at Walsh's Funeral Home in Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday, April 22 from 5pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Molleran's Church in Carrickbeg at 11am on Sunday and he will be buried afterwards in Rathgormack Cemetery.

Mr O'Loughlin is survived by his loving wife Eilish, children Peter, Kate and Adam, siblings, grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. May he rest in peace
