Tipperary county league semi-final abandoned after worrying injury to player

The County Hurling League semi-final clash between Lorrha and Newport which was down for decision last Sunday morning last had to be postponed after a worrying injury to a Lorrha player occurred in the final quarter in Newport.

With Lorrha leading narrowly with roughly ten minutes of play left in the Division 3 clash, a Lorrha player suffered a nasty injury and, such as the concern for the player in question, an ambulance was called amid fears a serious injury had occurred.

However, it was confirmed soon after that the player did not suffer any long lasting damage and was reported to have suffered a double fracture of his collarbone.

Both clubs expected the game to get back underway after the player went down initially, but eventually the decision was made to abandon the game and replay it on another date.
