Grange Community Council

Grange Community Council will hold the Annual Field Evening on this Friday, June 9, in the grounds of Grange School. This is a wonderful evening which takes place annually for the past 42 years and is a great event for the whole family.

The fifth and sixth class children bring their ideas to the table with a variety of fun and games for everyone.

Whether you are buying tickets for the raffle, buying tickets for the lotto or trying your hand at the games or partaking in the auction, this is a fantastic opportunity to support your community and have fun and promises to be a fun evening. Funds will go towards the necessary repairs to Grange Community Hall. A considerable and unexpected problem has arisen with regards to the roof of the hall. Felt, timbers and slates will have to be replaced, this issue came to light when new fascia and gutters were being replaced.

The monies raised during the Annual Field Evening defrayed the yearly cost of keeping the hall open, these costs are necessary and substantial and they include, the insurance, public liability which has increased by 200%, accountancy and limited company costs, charity regulation and the fire regulation costs as well as heating and lighting.

Grange Community Council are appealing to the community to contribute towards the cost of keeping the hall open and available to the various groups using it on a daily basis. The community hall is used by young and old and its imperative that this is maintained to a higher standard.

Donations towards the cost of the roof repairs may be given to any committee member and/or at the Field Evening or dropped into Grange National School, any donation big or small will be very much appreciated. Community Council committee thank you for your generosity.
