South East Technological University Student Aoife Tobin from Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary received a prestigious Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) Award for European Student Leaders at a ceremony award at the U.S. Ambassador's Residence last Thursday, 8th June, 2023.

This Summer, she will travel to Michigan State University to explore topics such as citizenship, community building, economic development, grassroots activism, political leadership, and volunteerism.

She will partake in seminar discussions, readings, group presentations, and lectures with experts on Civic Engagement and gain insights into how citizens have shaped U.S. history, government, and society both as individuals and groups.

Aoife Tobin is a BA (Hons) in Social Care Practice student at South East Technological University (SETU) Waterford. Aoife will be attending Michigan State University in East Lansing as part of the Study of U.S Institutes (SUSI) which focuses on Civic Engagement.
