The AIB Press Photographers Association of Ireland Exhibition will be on display in Nenagh library until Thursday, August 3.
Showcasing over 100 of the most striking images of the previous year, spread across 12 categories including sustainability, arts and entertainment, daily life and people, news, politics and sport, amongst others, this exhibition aims to bring the talented and memorable work of Ireland's press photographers to a wider audience.
The PPAI Awards have gone from strength to strength over the years with 10 individual categories, plus the AIB Sustainability award and the overall trophy of Press Photographer of the Year, all of which seek to reward and recognise excellence in Irish press photography.
From over 2,000 images entries in this year’s competition, Mark Condren of the Irish Independent/Sunday Independent was selected AIB PPAI Press Photographer of the Year for 2023.
A worthy winner, the Cork native won praise from the judges for his portfolio of images of the past year’s most moving, historic and thought-provoking events across a selection of 12 outstanding photographs.
This is his sixth time winning this award.
