A fundraiser at Greenhill Nursing Home in Carrick-on-Suir raised €400 for the Get Marie Home campaign to adapt local woman Marie Harris' home to enable her return there following a stroke and below knee amputation.
The fundraiser that all staff at the nursing home generously contributed to was organised by healthcare assistant Tina Grace.
The cheque was presented to Marie and her husband David Harris on Thursday, July 13 at Greenhill Nursing Home.
Marie has now been in a rehab centre for 10 months and work is ongoing to revamp her family home in Carrick to which she wishes to return to as soon as possible.
David Harris and his wife Marie and family were delighted with the kind donation and sincerely thanked the Greenhill Nursing Home staff. They also thank all who had supported the GoFundMe page and Slievenamon Cycling Club who had held a fundraising cycle on April 30.
David and Marie spoke of how committed the community in Carrick-on-Suir and its environs are and always have been in their kindness, support and fundraising for local causes.
