Gardaí investigate car break-ins in two Tipperary towns and a village

Gardaí are investigating a spate of car break-ins in Clonmel, Clerihan and Carrick-on-Suir and have urged the public to be vigilant and ensure their vehicles are locked at night.

The window of a car parked at Peter Street in Clonmel was smashed shortly after midnight on Monday, August 21. A man, aged in his early 20s, was arrested shortly afterwards in connection with the break-in.

Meanwhile, ear pods were stolen from a car parked in the Ash Park area of Carrick-on-Suir last Thursday night/Friday morning August 17 and 18.

And a number of cars were broken into in Clerihan village last Saturday night/Sunday morning August 19/20.

A car parked in a housing estate in Clerihan was entered and rifled through while small amounts of cash were stolen from three other vehicles and a purse was stolen from a fifth vehicle.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information that may assist their investigations into these incidents to contact Clonmel Garda Station at (052) 6177641.
