Bus Éireann has increased its bus services connecting Carrick-on-Suir with Waterford City and other towns and villages in east Waterford.
The national bus company has extended its Route 354 Portlaw to Dunmore East service to include Carrick-on-Suir starting from Sunday, September 24.
Route 354 provides seven daily services between Carrick-on-Suir and Dunmore East via Portlaw and Waterford city.
Its stops are Carrick-on-Suir, Portlaw, Kilmeaden, SETU Campus, Waterford; Waterford city centre, Waterford University Hospital and Dunmore East.
Daily services between Dunmore East and Waterford are also enhanced, providing eleven services Monday to Sunday.
The route also provides later departures to Dunmore East from Carrick-on-Suir at 6.05pm and 9pm from Portlaw.
Bus Éireann said the significantly enhanced Route 354 is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
“Bus Éireann is delighted to introduce these significant enhancements to Route 354, connecting Carrick-on-Suir and Dunmore East for the first time, providing seven daily services between the two locations,” said Aled Williams, Bus Éireann’s South Senior Operations Manager.
“Thanks to the National Transport Authority, through the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan we have added over 2 million kilometres to our network and have created over 68 new jobs. Demand for our services in the South is higher now than pre-pandemic.
“The enhanced connectivity to Carrick-on-Suir enables us to connect our growing number of customers with who and what matters to them,” he added.
