Nenagh Court: Tipperary man caught with 14 cannabis deals and weighing scales in house, court is told
A man who was caught with 14 cannabis deal bags is to be assessed to see if he is suitable for the Restorative Justice programme.
Simon Ryan of 21 Shamrock Court, Nenagh, pleaded at Nenagh District Court to possession of cannabis at Shamrock Court on July 27, 2022.
The court heard that Mr Ryan’s house was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and 14 deals of cannabis were discovered.
The drugs had an estimated value of €370.
The gardaí also found weighing scales, further deal bags and a mobile phone.
Mr Ryan’s solicitor, Johnny Spencer, said that his client had been smoking cannabis at the time.
He asked Judge Elizabeth MacGrath if she would consider allowing Mr Ryan to take part in the Restorative Justice programme as he wished to travel to Australia next year.
Judge MacGrath adjourned the matter to December to see if Mr Ryan were a suitable candidate.
