Tipperary's search for a new senior football manager will come to an end tonight, with Dubliner Paul Kelly set to be ratified at a meeting of the football board in Thurles.
The former Naas and Thomas Davis manager is set to be confirmed in the role which has been vacant since David Power’s resignation last June and Kelly, who was a selector with Oisin McConville’s Wicklow in 2023, will take up his first role in intercounty management.
In 2019, Kelly led Thomas Davis to their first senior Dublin final in 28 years and the Balrothery native was previously linked with Laois and Offaly in the last number of months.
All that remains is for Kelly to nail down a number of positions in his backroom team and management setup, ahead of a big task to upturn the fortunes of Tipperary senior football, with Division 4 football on the cards for the coming 2024 season.
