Fundraising hike is to raise funds for Tipperary's Newcastle Community First Responders group

Newcastle Community First Responders group will host a 12km fundraising walk along part of the Knockmealdown Trail on Sunday, November 12.

The linear walk travels along the final part of the Knockmealdown Trail, which runs from Ballyporeen to Newcastle. It will require a moderate level of fitness as there are some inclines on the route.

Walkers taking part in the hike must check-in at Newcastle Community Hall (Eircode E91 C3V9) from 9am to 10am.

At 10am, buses (included in price) will depart for the walk start point, in Kildanogue, outside Goatenbridge.

The walk should take approximately three hours to complete.

Entry costs €15 and can be booked in advance online at https://NCFRWalk.
eventbrite.com or paid on the day at check-in.

Online booking is preferred, if possible, to calculate numbers for buses.

Free parking is available at Newcastle Community Hall and along the street outside. There will be stewards on hand to help with parking.

Please wear lightweight rainwear and appropriate footwear. Runners or good walking shoes should suffice. Walkers should also bring a fully charged mobile phone.

Food is not provided during the walk, so you will need to bring the food and drink you require.

Refreshments will be served at Newcastle Community Hall when participants return.

Walk logistics are being organised by the volunteers of Knockmealdown Active.

You can book entry to the Newcastle Community First Responders walk at https://NCFRWalk.
