Gardaí appeal for public's help in tracing knife wielding man who robbed Tipperary takeaway

Gardaí have appealed for the public’s help in tracing the knife wielding robber who stole cash from a Clonmel takeaway.

The robbery of the takeaway at Mary Street, Clonmel occurred between 7pm and 7.30pm on Friday, October 27.

A man, whose face was covered, entered the premises armed with a large kitchen knife, threatened staff and demanded money. He escaped from the takeaway on foot with a sum of cash.

A Clonmel Garda Station spokesperson described the culprit as being about 5ft. 6 inches tall.

He wore a grey jacket and blue jeans.

The garda spokesperson said their enquiries into this crime are ongoing. Gardaí are obtaining and examining CCTV footage of this part of Clonmel town centre as part of their investigation.

She appealed to anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw any suspicious activity in the Mary Street area on Friday evening, October 27 to contact Clonmel Garda Station at (052) 6177641.
