Events have been organised across the south-east to show solidarity with the people of Gaza
As news of Israels continued bombing of the besieged people of Gaza, Palestine,
members of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) South East branch
(covering Waterford, Wexford, Tipperary and Kilkenny) continue to take action in local
areas across the South East in response to the acts of genocide being committed.
This week will see a wave of actions take place across counties in the South East led by the
Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Committee (IPSC), but are open to all members of the public who
want to show solidarity with Palestine.
Every Wednesday at 5.30pm a gathering takes place at the Town Hall, Kilkenny. IPSC
members are committed to continuing this display of solidarity until a ceasefire is realised.
Tipperary people are also invited to join the gathering at Castle Street, Roscrea on Wednesday
8th November at 6.30pm.
IPSC will also be holding a stall at 12pm on Saturday 11th of November at John Roberts Square
in Waterford City Centre with information about Israeli apartheid and ways the public can take
action locally through campaigns such as the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction campaign.
This
is to be followed by an action at Fianna Fáil Minister Mary Butler's office to highlight her party
facilitating the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland at the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis this week, as the
public calls for the Ambassador’s expulsion.
In Wexford, the IPSC is hosting a banner making session in Red Books, Wexford on Friday 10th
at 4pm ahead of a Boycott, Divestment, Sanction (BDS) stall on Saturday 11th at 2pm at top of
Anne Street, Wexford Town.
IPSC South East members are committed to continuing to take actions in support of Palestine
across the region until the apartheid and genocide ends.
Last week, the South East Branch of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign ran a webinar
meeting with speakers from the IPSC and directly from Ramallah in the West Bank to increase
knowledge of the Palestine solidarity movement, the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions
campaign, and most importantly, the emergency being caused by the Israeli assault on Gaza,
highlighting what people in the southeast can do to help.
The IPSC South East branch also brought people from across Waterford, Kilkenny, Tipperary
and Wexford together to a rally in John Roberts Square, Waterford City last Saturday, which
saw community leaders from across the South East speaking about the campaign.
