Aldi’s store in Cashel re-opened yesterday after an extensive renovation project worth almost €1 million which has seen the store interior completely gutted and refurbished.
The new layout has a special emphasis on fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables and baked goods, and the store has received a full makeover in line with ALDI’s award-winning Project Fresh design, which was recognised at the National Grocery Retail Awards when ALDI won the Discounter Store of the Year award in 2022.
The entire store network is now powered by 100% wind-generated energy, while the newly renovated Cashel store has also received a CO2 upgrade, meaning there will be a more environmentally friendly refrigerant in store.
This year, ALDI has invested €7.2 million in upgrading six of its stores throughout the country and is currently expanding and upgrading the store in Tipperary Town.
ALDI employs over 152 permanent staff members in eight stores across county Tipperary, spending €4.8M on wages annually in addition to purchasing goods from 330 Irish suppliers nationwide.
