A screening of a 20 minute documentary film telling the story of the Franciscan Friars in Clonmel will be shown in the friary on December 23 at 2 pm
In this compelling 20 minute documentary film, set to captivate audiences, Clingfilm Productions presents an intimate exploration of the rich history and religious significance of the Clonmel Friary. This cinematic journey details the Friary's origins dating back to the 13th century and its profound impact on the local community throughout the centuries.
The documentary traces the history of the Franciscan Brotherhood, highlighting their contributions to the local area and offering a poignant reflection on their departure from Clonmel. It explores the reasons behind the closure of the Friary and its impact on the community, examining the emotional toll experienced by those who have long considered the Friary their spiritual home.

The screening will take place in the Friary at 2 pm on Saturday the 23rd of December. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend this unique cinematic experience that celebrates the history, spirituality and legacy of the Franciscan order and the local Friary.
