Sad passing of Tipperary man who represented archdiocese at Lourdes 150th celebrations

The death has occurred in his 90th year of Denis Russell, Rathmanna House, Thurles

The Late Denis Russell


The death occurred in his 90th year of Denis Russell, Rathmanna House, Thurles, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.


Predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Doyle) and son Paddy, sisters Mai (Kearney) and Statia (Cahill), brothers Paddy, Jim and Jack.


He will be sadly missed by his devoted family, daughters Mary and Helen, sons Dan and Jim, adored grandchildren, sons in law David and Ron, daughters in law Mary and Maeve, sisters-in-law Mary (Doyle), Joan (Doyle) and Margaret (Bab, Russell), nieces, nephews, cousins, great neighbours and a wide circle of friends.


The late Denis was for many years on the Lourdes Pillgrimages, giving his valuable help to all the sick people on the trips.


In 2008 Denis was giving the honour in representing the Cashel and Emly Lourdes Pilgrimage at the 150 years celebrations.
His remains were reposed at Hugh Ryan's Funeral Home Thurles on Thursday, December 14, with removal of remains to Thurles Cathedral.


Requiem Mass on Friday at 11 am.Chief Celebrant Fr. James Purcell, Parish Priest and a number or Priest in attendance.


May Denis now Rest in Peace with his wife Mary and son Paddy.
