Met Éireann issues multiple alerts for Storm Isha
Storm Isha will track to the northwest of Ireland on Sunday and Sunday night, bringing very strong winds and some heavy rain.
As a result, Met Éireann have issued a Status Orange wind warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Monaghan and Munster valid Sunday 21/01/24 17:00 to Monday 22/01/24 at 02:00.
Tipperary County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team met yesterday (Saturday) afternoon to assess the situation and to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place in advance of this severe weather event. All emergency repair crews and contractors will be on standby and ready to deal with any emergencies.
Potential impacts include very difficult travelling conditions, fallen trees, damage to power lines and motorists are advised not to make any unnecessary journeys during the orange events and should exercise extreme caution because of the danger posed by this event.
