Councillor Michéal Lowry has slammed Uisce Éireann for leaving roads they work on in “a state.”
At last week’s sitting of Thurles-Templemore Municipal District Council, he said that when the water authority carries out work, they damage roads, leaving council staff to fix it.
“It’s hard enough to get them out to the work in the first place,” said Cllr Lowry.
The councillor said Uisce Éireann has a responsibility to do the work properly and not to leave the local authority to pick up the pieces.
“They simply walk away. They don’t care,” said Cllr Lowry.
District Engineer Thomas Duffy said he agreed it “wasn't acceptable.”
