Tipperary County Council's decision to grant planning permission for 10 years for a proposed solar farm near Clonmel is under appeal to An Bord Pleanála.

Springmount Solar Farms Ltd. was granted conditional planning approval for a circa 60MW solar PV farm at lands north of the N24 at Jamestown, Kilmolash Upper and Rathkeevin, Clonmel on April 12.

But the project has now been delayed as a local resident lodged an appeal of the Council's planning decision on the project with the planning appeals board on May 8.

An Bord Pleanála says the case is due to be decided on September 10.
