Property Marking events are taking place in Cloneen and Fethard today (Monday, May 20) so people can have their Eircode put on items they own to make them readily identifiable in the event they are stolen.

Property marking will take place in Cloneen Community Centre from 2pm to 4pm and Fethard Town Park from 5pm to 8pm.

The public are invited to bring along any property they wish to have marked such as trailers, lawn mowers, chainsaws, bicycles and power tools.

Marking your tools and equipment with an Eircode makes them less attractive to thieves and helps gardai to return them to their rightful owner if they are found after being stolen.
