SHOCKING: Voter turnout in Tipp declined in almost every LEA compared to 2019

Cashel-Tipperary was the only LEA to see an increase at just a 0.3% rise

Voter turnout throughout Tipperary in this year's Local Elections was an average of 55.12% across the eight LEAs which is over 2.5% lower than 2019's 57.85% turnout.

Each LEA's turnout percentage is broken down below with these year's turnout percentage compared to the 2019 figure:

Cahir

58.19% (2024) < 58.39% (2019)

Carrick-on-Suir

54.31% (2024) < 58.63% (2019)

Cashel / Tipperary

52.77% (2024) > 52.45% (2019)

Clonmel

49.85% (2024) < 50.83% (2019)

Nenagh

56.53% (2024) < 59.27% (2019)

Newport

57.30% (2024) < 60.6% (2019)

Roscrea / Templemore

56.03% (2024) < 62.1% (2019)

Thurles

55.99% (2024) < 60.33% (2019)

Similar trends were reported across the country signifying a declining lack of interest for local elections throughout the Irish populous.
